Breaking Down Dry Grinding Process in Raymond Mill: Steps and Techniques

Raymond mill is a commonly used grinding equipment, mainly used for grinding various materials into fine powder. The grinding process includes several steps, and we will mainly discuss the dry grinding process in Raymond mill.

Firstly, the bulk material is crushed to the required size by jaw crusher, and then the crushed material is transported to the storage hopper by the elevator. The vibrating feeder evenly feeds the material into the main engine for grinding through the feeding device.

The main engine of Raymond mill uses a plum blossom frame and superimposed roller grinding device, which improves the grinding efficiency and reduces energy consumption significantly. The grinding roller assembly hangs on the plum blossom frame, and the grinding roller rotates around the central axis of the main engine under the action of centrifugal force. The grinding roller itself is equipped with a hydraulic device, which can automatically adjust the grinding pressure, so as to achieve the desired grinding effect.

In the dry grinding process, the raw material is transported to the grinding chamber by the airflow of the fan. Under the action of centrifugal force, the material is dispersed around the grinding roller and forms a material curtain. The grinding roller continuously rotates and crushes the material. The ground powder is blown into the grading impeller by the airflow of the fan, and the fine powder passes through the impeller for grading. The coarse particles are returned to the grinding chamber for grinding, and the qualified fine powder enters the powder collector along with the airflow.

To improve the grinding efficiency and achieve finer grinding, Raymond mill also adopts a high-efficiency and low-resistance powdered separator. The separator is located at the upper part of the grinding chamber and mainly separates the fine powder from the coarse particles. The fine powder passes through the blades of the separator and enters the powder collector, while the coarse particles are back to the grinding chamber for further grinding.

In addition, Raymond mill is equipped with a dust removal device, which can effectively control the dust pollution during the grinding process, making the grinding environment cleaner and ensuring the health of the operators.

In summary, the dry grinding process in Raymond mill mainly includes the following steps: crushing the bulk material to the required size, feeding the material into the main engine for grinding, dispersing the material around the grinding roller, crushing the material by the rotation of the grinding roller, grading the ground powder, and collecting the fine powder. The use of a high-efficiency and low-resistance powdered separator can further improve the grinding efficiency and achieve finer grinding.

Raymond mill is widely used in various ores, cement, refractory materials, bauxite clinker, silicon carbide, glass raw materials and other materials with high hardness, fineness requirements, and suitable for the dry grinding process. With its excellent performance and high grinding efficiency, Raymond mill has become the preferred equipment for grinding various materials in industries such as mining, metallurgy, and building materials.
